Thank You From 39th & Broadway!

By admins | April 30, 2009

We just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to some of those who have given us such great reviews.  We have been up and running for a year now and had no idea when we started a fashion blog what a wonderful response we would receive.  So thank you to everyone for all the support and to our lovely readers thank you, thank you, thank you!

From Independent Fashion Bloggers; This week’s Blogger Spotlight goes to the adorable 39th & Broadway! Finally! 39th and Broadway is one of those fashion blogs heavy on the content. Industry insiders often will delve into the subjects we never think about, like issues of the plus size industry, garment worker conditions, the reality of a career in fashion. As well as how to dress for a fashion job interview, there is something compelling every week, a fashion blogger’s must read.

From Parson’s School of Design Career Services;  Great informative website. www.39thandbroadway.com has a host of wonderful articles and first person stories about the fashion industry. It’s honest and not afraid to tell you what you will really encounter when working in fashion. Here are some of my favorites: What You Don’t Learn in Fashion School
A Day In The Life Of A NYC Fashion Designer
Fashion Interns…Spoiled Beotches! *Take a look at that link and ask yourself (aside from what you wear to the internship) Have I done that during my internship? Are you texting or online while at the job? If so, then this is the impression you’re giving your co-workers. And yes these co-workers could cause you to not get hired.

The Fashion Freelance Option
Also take a peek at the forums, it’s a really great insight to what it’s really like out there.

From Work Chic;  39th and Broadway’s website that gives their thoughts on what to wear if you are interviewing for a position in the fashion industry.  Being  fashion industry veterans ourselves, we have seen practically everything when it comes to interview attire.  The team at 39th and Broadway offers pretty sound advice on how to adjust your interview style to this type of interview.

From brand, Dollhouse’s BlogI love this blog, 39th & Broadway, the insider scoop on the fashion industry. As they put it, the “blog is devoted to fashion insiders who work in the industry and need a place to gossip, vent and network.” Hmm, sounds good. I think I will follow it regularly.
