Sorry for my not-so-prompt reply, this has been on my to-do before labor starts list!

As you know I work for Bryant Park Corporation also, I wanted to comment and start a dialogue on the park’s position. Here’s our biggest issue as the group that manages the park and tries to keep the public’s best interest in mind for all event decisions: if Fashion Week in New York City were later in the fall (October), and later in the late winter (March), it would be easier to welcome such a large and prominent private event in the park. Because now the lawn and the free skating rink must close very early in the season to make way for an event that is not open to the public, we get many complaints about the disruption to the park.

So, now that I’ve officially spoken and stated, I’m very curious about your opinion regarding the dates: feasible, or impossible?!

So glad you all feel the importance of such an internationally recognized prominent NYC fashion event remaining in our neighborhood.

Seems to me... like people(Blooberg & cronies) are more that too happy to dismantle the NYC fashion scene to make a quick buck...Bryant Park IS NYCFW!!!! first step towards dissolving the fashion district...what next will they move...?

I totally agree with Anna. It's a huge logistical nightmare and frankly will make it impossible for models to be able to move quickly from show to show. At least Bryant Park was kind of in the middle. The UWS is going to be a hassle for everyone.

hi there! i too don't like the move to Lincoln Center. NYFW has been tightly associated with Bryant Park and it's unsettling to think one without the other. Not to mention, I work 2 blocks from the park too :)

Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope you drop by again :)

I loved Anna Sui's show!
I'm not a New Yorker, but I think it's a shame to move the shows from Bryant Park. There's such a history there and I admire the way you guys are fighting so hard to preserve that history!
