Get Your Read On
By admins | October 15, 2008
As avid readers we couldn’t resist posting on the wealth of new fashion books available. It seems that every designer, fashionista, and stylist has decided to write a book. So if the economic downturn has caused you to cut back on your fall shopping you can at least afford to read about it. And even though it is a bit early for Christmas shopping we think these books would make great gifts for coworkers and fellow fashionistas.
- “How to Have Style” ($30, Gotham Books) by designer Isaac Mizrahi
- “Freakin Fabulous : How to Dress, Speak, Behave, Eat, Drink, Entertain, Decorate, and Generally Be Better Than Everyone Else” ($24.95, Simon Spotlight Entertainment) by TLC’s host of “What Not to Wear” Clinton Kelly
- “The Lucky Guide to Mastering Any Style” ($30, Gotham Books/Melcher Media) by Kim France and Andrea Linett
- “The One Hundred: A Guide to the Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own” ($21.95, Harper Collins) by Nina Garcia from Project Runway With illustrations from world-renowned fashion illustrator Ruben Toledo
- “In Style A to Zoe” ($15.99, Grand Central Pub) by Rachel Zoe Hollywood’s hottest celebrity stylist
Not in the mood for a new book? How about a new movie based on one of the most popular fashion books of all time? Yes that’s right, “Confessions of a Shopaholic” will premier February 2009. As one of our favorite chick-lit books, we are even more excited to see Isla Fisher bring Rebecca Bloomwood to the silver screen.
