Ho Hum, Holiday Season’s Arriving
By admins | November 21, 2008
It’s mid-November and the holidays are fast approaching and we confess to being none too excited. Just thinking about the holidays means: long travel, not enough vacation time, push to get deadlines before Christmas, then push to meet deadlines before Chinese New Year, tourists galore taking up our sidewalks, late office hours with no heat after 6:00pm, competitive shopping, drain on your bank account, and of course bad Christmas music everywhere. Perhaps part of this stress is due to the fact that Christmas decorations went up all over the city immediately after Halloween. Come on people, it’s not even Thanksgiving yet and we’re getting ready for Christmas? Has anyone been over to our neighborhood Lord and Taylor? Their Christmas windows are up already! Barney’s are up too (pictured above). Even the weather seems early, it’s been freezing this week. We’ve had flurries already; NYC is really feeling like the end of December instead of mid-November. On the plus side there are some things that we are looking forward to: sample sales, free ice skating at Bryant Park, New Year’s parties, the Rockefeller Christmas Tree, theatre season, and even more sample sales! So how are you feeling about the approaching holiday season?

There is nothing like NYC in the wintertime. But also nothing like New England at Christmas time either. Shop Cheaply and eat a lot. And do something for someone else this season. Happy Holidays.

Great posting and blog, I know my site is not really related but check it out and give me any contructive feedback you have. If you are interested in putting my site in your blog role I could do the same.

I love the Macy’s parade although we have them in the Midwest too!
