—A new must see fashion exhibit will be available for public viewing come January. The Brooklyn Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art have combined their fashion collections for the ultimate fashion experience. Rather than face frigid temperatures, make some time to hit up a museum, especially when two boroughs have come together to create one fashionably fabulous exhibit.
—It seems coke-head Kate Moss has been replaced as the celeb designer de jour for Top Shop. Christine Aguilera has signed on with the London chain to design a new line. So what does a Top Shop design gig pay these days? Well, for Christina. it pays a cool 1 million dollars! Hmmm wouldn’t it be nice if we all got that kind of paycheck for a seasonal gig!?
—Rumors are flying that Zack Posen will be entering the mass market fashion world. Apparently realizing how successful other designers have been in creating budget friendly lines, Zack has decided to join in. Or maybe he’s realized that during a recession, thousand dollar evening wear that only Natalie Portman can afford, is not the way to go.
—Pamela Anderson has reportedly signed on to be the new face for Vivienne Westwood. Vivienne apparently loves Pam’s quirkiness and is excited to have her in their 2009 campaign. So, we guess that means, one person’s skanky is another person’s quirky.
—It’s another sign of recession times when couture fashion houses are facing mass layoffs. Chanel has just laid off 200 employees in Paris to help compensate for slowing sales. One can only imagine what Coco Chanel would have thought about this!
