Great interview. I moved from a less fashionable state to THE fashion state and when I went to my first interview at a recruitment agent, I was told I was too nice to be recommended to most of the companies she had oh her books......yes. that is right

Fab interview! I went to school for design but now (after a semester) am rethinking it. I thought about tech but am not sure. Do you need to be really good at math? I didn't think it was all that creative but now this article has me thinking maybe it's the perfect mix for me.

Thanks!

Great, great post and interview. I agree with her stance on women worklife in the fashion industry. Compared to other female-dominated industries like teaching and nursing, the fashion and retail industries, from my experience, undervalue women's specific needs and issues. My insurance in my last two jobs were dreadful, I wasn't covered for a women's specific treatment I know is common. Plus so much of the work in fashion bleeds into late nights, which is also very challenging and gets tiring.

Fantastic interview. Tech design is really a growing field and the pay is improving, finally.

She is so on point regarding women in the industry and maternity leave. It is absurd how this is a female dominated industry yet women are treated so unfairly!

Loved her last answer too. There are so many things I wish I knew about this industry before I entered, but its probably good that I went in blind because I may not have done it otherwise!

That was a good interview! I had to crack up at the part where the doorman said she was too nice for the industry -- story of my life!
