Lady Gaga, Latest Celebrity Designer?

Lady Gaga has joined the ever growing list of celebrity fashion designers. Known for her music and outrageous sense of style, she has decided it would be “fun” to launch her own clothing line. Because as we all know it’s just so easy to launch a fashion collection, every-body’s doing it, right? In case you can’t tell how we feel about unqualified celebrities licensing out their name and calling themselves a designer click here for more. While Lady Gaga’s personal style is certainly fashion forward and eye-catching, it is not exactly as original as she would like us to think. If you morph Christina Aguilera with an American Apparel ad you have, in a nut shell, Lady Gaga. As for preparing for this new venture, what does the Lady have to say? “I’m already talking to my boy Akon about it.” Because as everybody knows, to enter the fashion industry first you talk to Akon about it, not investors, not manufactures, and certainly not actual designers. Did we mention this line is for teens? Now would you let your 13 year old dress like that? Do young girls really need more skin tight spandexed fashion icons to emulate? So what do you all think about Lady Gaga’s fashion line?

I’m actually a big fan of her sound and style, but that said I feel no need for another celeb hocking fast fashion, enough!

Though I’m usually not a big fan of celebrities starting their own unoriginal, kitschy fashion lines, Lady GaGa isn’t the average celebrity like Sean John, Sarah Jessica Parker or Avril Lavigne (all who have crappy fashion lines). Her out-there style, in my opinion, is cool, catchy, crazy and often catwalk-worthy and I look forward to seeing what she brings to the retail world.

I love Lady GaGa’s unique style….she shows us teenagers that you don’t always have to follow the fashion pack…that we can be unique…I love Lady GaGa’s crazy but cool outfits and if she does become a designer then I’ll buy the whole line!!!! :D
