Lauren Conrad, Designer For Reals?

The Lauren Conrad collection showed last week during LA fashion week (yes they too have a fashion week). So what did we think of LC’s Spring/Summer line? Blah, Blah, and more Blah. It was hard to believe that such a boring, unoriginal line was the top ticket for LA fashion week with hundreds of people overbooked. We saw nothing new or innovative in her line that deemed it worthy of such hype. It is no surprise to us that Lauren’s line was recently dumped by trendy boutique Kitson due to poor sales. To take a look for yourselves Here. Now as most fashionistas are aware the big rumor on the LC collection is that Lauren is not actually the designer. The word is LC is used mainly to promote the line ala The Hills but really has very little to do with the actual designing. This is why we never see her working on her line, sketching, specing, fitting, etc… on any episode of The Hills. Supposedly the real designer is Sherry Wood of Tart. This has been denied and explained as Sherry being the “creative director” for the Lauren Conrad collection and Lauren as the designer (see picture of them above). We honestly never bought that story until now. This latest underwhelming collection looked weak enough to believe it was the work of a reality show celebutante not a professional designer. Your thoughts?
