Selling All Fashion Scoop!
By admins | April 20, 2009

— Jones Apparel which is a partial owner in designer Rachel Roy, (Who doesn’t Jones own anymore?) has announced the launch of a new contemporary line. This more affordable collection will be priced from $59 to $299 and available at Macy’s. Yeah, we can finally afford some Rachel Roy!
— More bad news from retailers, as H&M suffers the effects of the recession. As the 3rdlargest fashion chain in the world, they reported a drastic 3% drop in sales last month. We’re rather surprised by this as all the NYC H&M’s seem to be claustrophobically packed with tourists and residents alike.
— Time to get your shop on, yes we know times are tough and money is tight, but everyone deserves to indulge now and then what better splurge than some sexy designer under-things from La Perla. Too pricey? Not at their sample sale, happening April 20th – 24th at 4 West 58th Street on the fourth floor.
— A sign of the times, as the web and fashion blogs, continue to pull business from mainstream media and newspapers. The New York Times has announced that it is downsizing its Sunday Times Magazine’s fashion division. They will no longer publish the magazine’s fashion spreads! Damn, that’s one of our favorites!
— Happy Sparkle Week? Huh? Yeah, in an effort to help boost sales for our suffering jewelry sector in NYC, Mayor Bloomberg has created a holiday called “Sparkle Week.” He hopes this will encourage shoppers and tourists to visit the diamond district and spend, spend, spend. What do you think?

So, so sad about NYT Magazine. What is Bloomberg thinking, how cheesy, I guess a billioniare may not know how to appeal to those of us on a budget.
