We thought that it would be appropriate to pay tribute to all the hard working, bag toting, opinion giving, shopping partners out there by making a top ten list that can make the weekend shopping trips more pleasant for your significant other. So next time you’re shopping, keep these suggestions in mind. These ideas were submitted from the boyfriends and husbands of our contributors. Because nine times out of ten they would rather be doing anything else then shopping, so it’s time to give back.
- For the “I would rather be home watching sports fan” – Make sure your shopping partner has the latest iphone/blackberry technology so they can watch the big game on their gadget while they’re waiting for you ever so patiently.
- For the “shopping-bag lugging husband” – Find a dressing room with a comfy waiting chair. (Or risk the inevitable whining and sighing). It’s the small subtle details that can make the shopping trip go smooth.
- For the “Is this day ever going to be over guy” – Make sure to find a lunch spot with some strong drinks. A shot of Patron may give him that little extra, and help him find his second bag carrying wind.
- For the “horny boyfriend” – Wear some sexy underwear and when you find a dressing big enough for two, surprise him with a little sumptin, sumptin. (So shocking that a guy would come up with this).
- For the “completely exhausted bag carrier” - Promise him a long massage when you get home and relieve all those fatigued muscles.
- For the “I still think I’m a kid, boyfriend” – Get him a portable gaming device to by the time; PSP, Nintendo DS he will love you for this one.
- For the “I always need a snack guy” – Cinnabon… Pretzelman… need I say more. (Men really are like toddlers in this aspect)
- For the “traditional non-techie news hound” – A good book, magazine, or newspaper usually does the trick especially for short shopping runs.
- For the “I wish I had a better home theater guy” – Send him to the closest Best Buy or PC Richards in the mall to check out the newest TV on the market while you’re shopping away and meet him after you’re done.
- For the “movie buff shopping partner” – After a full day of girlie shopping, check to see if there are any guy movies that he has been dying to see and indulge him.

This is all well and good but what if you can’t get your significant other to even enter a store?
